Planning Law & Property Development

It is important to seek advice before making changes to your home or property. Not all changes will require permission from your Local Authority, but you should find out which changes require planning permission so that you do not breach planning controls.

There is a useful visual guide from the Government available at http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/hhg/houseguide.html which is a good starting point for finding out whether or not you will need planning permission for the work you want to do.

We are experts in this area, and in the right circumstances can assist you with obtaining a Certificate of Lawful Development or Retrospective Planning Permission for changes you have already made without the benefit of planning permission.

We can also assist you if your Local Authority has issued an Enforcement Notice or is threatening prosecution for the breach of an Enforcement Notice. We are highly experienced at dealing with Planning Appeals.

Please contact us as soon as you receive any notices from the Local Authority indicating that you may be in breach of planning controls.
